Abstract:
The Islamic revolution of Iran has made an impact
hath domestically and internationally ,especially in Islamic countries
,on different intellectual, political and social fields, Indonesia is
one of the south eastern Asian countries that have a lot of historical
similarities with Iran, It has more than 200 million Muslims and
provides a proper ground for studying the impression of Islamic
revolution, Moreover, Islamic revolution of Iran is progressive as a new
religious movement in contemporary world, It is highly necessary to
study such effects particularly in Islamic countries which have
necessary grounds for change.
This dissertation has examined Islamism and
repercussions ofIslamic revolution in Indonesia, Indonesia has a high
strategic importance among south Eastern Asian countries. The first
manifestations of Islam emerged in Indonesia by Iranian, Arab and Indian
Muslim merchants and traders through business travels, Furthermore many
Muslims especially Imams "descendants emigrated to distant areas
particularly south east of Asia because of the pressures applied by
Abbasi caliphs, Also the population has increased in this country since
then, Interactions among leaders and organizations and also Islamic
parties can be classified into three eras; first in the era of
colonialism political groups and parties especially Islamic groups
fanned to combat colonialism. In the second era, the era of
independence, inconsistent policies were adopted against Islam by
Suharto and Sukarno as the first leaders of the country after
independence from Japan in [945, In the third era, post-Suharto era,
Islamic parties emerged increasingly that coincided with the ruling
ofYusofHabibi and Abdurrahman Wahid. Indonesia has a moderate Islam but
Islamic revolution of Iran had its own effect on the development of an
Islamic culture in this country, This study attempts to provide a
comprehensive study about the effect of Islamic revolution of Iran on
Indonesia and Islamism in an independent case study.
