Islamic unity has a noticeable place according to the sacred lawyer and has been continuously emphasized by religious authorities. Nevertheless this vital principle was damaged in the earlier period of Islam. While Muslims were struggling to gain power and expand domestic dispute in Islamic world, they forgot foreign enemies and as a result they found themselves surrounded and invaded by European countries after 600 years of Mogul attack. Muslim scholars and peacemakers have emphasized the necessity of convergence and the reinforcement of unity in the Islamic world even in political stage because of western colonialism offense.

Shiia jurists have tried to establish and maintain unity among different parties in Islamic world by following the method of Imams' life. Peacemakers and thinkers ranging from Seyyed Jamal Al Din Asadabadi to the contemporery jurists like Ayatollah Khamenei have the same opinion about the concept of unity. They consider it as the cooperation and solidarity of Islamic religions’ followers on the basis of common Islamic principles and taking the same position to reach the highest obgectives of Islamic Ummah as well as taking same position against Islam’s enemies and respecting the commitment of every Muslim to his religion.

The history of convergence efforts is reviewed briefly from the old age to the current age in this dissertation. Then the points of view of five shiia jurists in the current age of unity are studied. The main discussion of this dissertation is divided into two parts: two stages before and after the Islamic revolution, because the Islamic revolution is the first example of shiia state that inserted a new life into Islamic unity framework and also the two discussed jurists are related to the Islamic revolution. Moreover it more clarifies the role and effect of the Islamic revolution on the Islamic unity thoughts. Therefore it studies and states Seyyed Jamal Al Din Asadabadi's point of views as the initiative of current Islamic unity age. Moreover it outlines Ayatollah Borujerdi and Shahid Motahari's points of view in the section of unity thought before the Islamic revolution, and Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei's points of view in the section of unity thought after the Islamic revolution of Iran. Finally the conclusion is offered.
