Abstract:

The United States has taken the first steps in Iran in the era of Fath – Ali Shah ghajar, by sending missioneries who did many important helps in the area of education, health and other services in Iran. These services helped them to get a high position in Iranian’s mind in competition with the two colonial countries: Russia and Britain.

Late in 19 August 1953, US found the strategic situation in Iran and started to rob its wealth.

These attitudes caused Iranian to overthrow Shah’s regime under the leadership of Imam Khomeini in 11 February 1979  and blocked American’s expectations.

So US tried to re-establish its past position through peaceful and hostile interventions but Iran reacted to these both patterns.

These patterns can be distinguished in 4 periods of times:

1.   From 1979 until 1981. In this period, as US hostile interference in domestic affairs, was challenged directly by iran.

2.   From 1981 until 1989. In this period Iran defended ag ainst assaults of his enemy (Iraq) and challenged of USA,S direct and indirect interventions.

3.    From 1989 until 1999. Iran reconstructed his economy and military basics, his foreign affairs, and combated against sanctions and also against US plots.

4.   1999 until 2005. Iran tried to have a peaceful policy with foreign countries.in this periodand also stood against US intervention in economic, political, social and military fields.
