Abstract:

"Civil society" especi-ally in its relation to 'state', has a different face in the west. "Civil society" is a phenomenon that has been emerged from the human's modern approach to himself, society and history.

This concept has been criticize in different approaches in the west. Utilitarianism, Kains school, structuralism, and Elitism, and Behaviorism are these approaches whom criticize civil society by negation of the objective.

In Iran, civil society has been understood with liberty, equalit)" and constituLion. Constitution 111U\Cment, national movement, Islamic Republic, and Iranian tendency to civil society in seventh presidential election period in 1376 have proved this claim.

There are serious discourses in Iran that criticize the civil society. Islamic fundamentalism has understand with a superior concept i.e. GOD.

"Development discourse" has understand it with concept of development. Intellectualism discourse has been disable to produce a certain political theory. Synthetic discourse that has formed with religious and neo-criticism approach t have negated the desirability of civil society.

Civil society - Development - Liberty - Equality - Behaviorism.
