This Thesis with the title of " An Analysis on the Crystalization of the nation building thought in Iran: Emphasis on Azerbayjan " aims at the explanation of the word "nation" and it's appropriate meaning in Iran and further more the Azerbayjan's real attitude in the ethnic composition of Iran. To reach to this Goal after an Introduction about hypothesis, the main questions and methods this thesis consists of four chaprets as this: Chapter one under the title of " Theoric and Historical Principles" is composed of four parts: in part one the meaning of the word" nation" in the Islamic - Iranian literature has been discussed. In part two the same subject has been about western political terature. In part three we have discussed about" the problems and backgrounds of understanding the word nation" and finally in part four we have given our definition of nation" and" nation building" .

In Chapter two under the title" nation building and it's processes in Iran" . we have given the two important historical era of nation building process in Iran: 1). Safavids , and 2). Mashrutiyat revolution with case study of Azerbayjan in both of them.

Chapter three is about: " the nation building thought in Pahlavi period: Analysis of Azerbayjan's issue' which consist of two parts: 1. Reza Shah's modern state and nation building, 2. The Azerbayjani national thought and behaviour in Mohammad Reza Shah period. The last part consist of two sections: a) Foreign effects. and interferes b) The nation building thought in Azerbayjani elites in which we have briefly discussed about four persons: 1. Samad Behrangi , 2. Shahriyar . 3. Bulut Qarachorlu , 4. Heydar Abbasi, the fourth chapter is a brief analysis of Ialamic revolution which devides into two parts: The capacity of new system to bear the amount of institutionalizing of nationalistic inputs, 2. The Folks direction: The Folk and elites' bilateral relationships. Finally according to the hypothesis and main Questions we have come to a brief result.
