"Learning organization" is an organization which has
remarkable skills in the areas of knowledge, creation, acquisition,
implementation and transmission. Such an organization is capable of
balancing its performance, so that it would reflex knowledge and new
theories. Learning capacity and finding appropriate changes and its
implementation are an important ability in today’s organization.
Actually learning capacity or developing appropriate changes are
considered to be the most important competitive advantages of a
humanitarian complex that could obtain in the competitive world of
today. This requires creation and impressive usage of organizational
learning. In this way, if Imam Sadeq University wants to achieve its
lofty goals, it should always increase its competitive advantages in
attracting elites and their retaining, training and growing continuously
and develop its abilities while encountering challenges and threats.
Hence we shouldn’t ignore organizational learning as a permanent
advantage and infinite resource.
In this study a brief survey of the literature of
learning and organizational learning and its history is drown, then,
various theories and learning cycles in the relative subject are
reviewed. Afterwards properties of learning organization and its
facilitating and prohibiting factors are mentioned. For measuring and
analysis of the level of organizational learning Wick and Leon model as
a conceptual framework was Chosen. Learning organization in this model
includes the following features:
1 – The leadership enjoys an obvious vision to the
future.
2 – It has remarkable abilities to provide necessary
plans to achieve and evaluate the goals.
3 – It is sensitive to the internal and external news and information.
4 – It has innovation and creativity.
5 – It has the ability to accomplish and implement
the matured ideas discussed in the previous steps.
According to the results of this research Imam Sadeq
University has won a notable advantage regarding the leadership feature,
but it hasn’t yielded good results regarding other features of
organizational learning (Plan / evaluation / innovation / implementation
and information) .
Based on the facts gained necessary suggestions for
promoting the level of organizational learning at Imam Sadeq University
are proposed.
