Abstract:
Productivity is one of the most important concepts
in management. Now - a -days, in every industry, the importnt issue is
how to work with the least consumptionof different kinds of energy.
Therefore the human resource of the organization as astrategic facfor,
need management's special attention.
In other words, one of the most effective ways of
increasing the productivityof every organization is to increase its
human resource productivity. In this regard, balanced satisfaction of the
human resource's needs (internal and enternal) is thekey to
productivity.
In this research, two organizations were compared
that both were similar inthe satisfaction of external needs of their
employees, but were different in satisfyingthe internal needs of them.
The results show that the organization in which bothinternal and
external needs of employees were satisfied equally, the productivity
ratewas higher than the other one.
The findings of this study supports the cognitive
evaluation theory that statesthe introduction of extrinsic rewards, such
as pay, for work effort that had beenproviously intrinsically rewarding
due to the pleasure associated with the content ofthe work itself, would
tend to decrease the overal level of motivation.
