Imam Sadegh University as a non-governmental Islamic university is
founded for teaching and developing human knowledge according to the
creation objectives, divine learnings and Islamic sciences. It is
believed that Islamic teachings epitomized by Imam Sadegh school of
thought has such an extensive capacity that once discovered, clarified
and actualized it can create a great transformation in the field of
human sciences and techniques and above all in social sciences and
humanities and thus it can lead to the training and raising of competent
scholars.
According to the Islamic principles and values ISU sees knowledge as a
divine light, great property, and a means of achieving perfection for
competent and disciplined human beings, and also believes that learning
and educating accompanied with self – refinement is what really conforms
with the path set by God’s prophets (pbut) and is the most important
calling of mankind; and only by making "intentions and goals" Godly, and
bridging the gap between "knowledge and practice" would the true role of
knowledge be performed.
ISU considers the distance between Howza (Islamic seminaries)
universities, and their isolation from the conceptions of each other as
an irretrievable loss for the Islamic society.
With the intention of real connection between Howza & universities, and
by utilizing the cooperation and achievements of the elites from the two
scientific centers, ISU will train and educate students who are
conscious of the exigencies of their time and are devoted to the
principles and values of pure Islam of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
Its aim is to render a new model of education in order to propagate the
knowledge pertaining to Islam and Ahlul Bait (The Holy Household of the
prophet) and thus create a major change in the higher educational
system.
To fulfill the goals and continuously upgrade its quality ISU will
undertake the following tasks:
1- Recruiting elites: Selecting top and talented students from
scientific & ethical points of view, and learned, believing refined and
intellectually independent professors.
2- Strengthening the faith & religious sense of honor, developing
Islamic ethics, and self-disciplining by creating a safe and sound
ethical and ideological atmosphere, and presenting theoretical and
practical models.
3- Correction, lasting progress & expansion of programs & educational
contents, making education a "research – centered" process, and making
education programs efficient. Establishing new educational courses
according to the goals & based on a survey of society’s need, especially
in postgraduate levels.
4- Promoting research, particularly to achieve an epistemic system based
on the Islamic education, expanding the borders of Islamic education &
inter-disciplinary researches in the field of Islamic sciences and
humanities and finally presenting the results.
5- Constant Scientific development by using different means such as
creating an atmosphere full of liveliness, motivation creativity &
academic open-mindedness, strong desire for knowledge, spreading the
spirit of criticism, acceptability of criticism and mutual
understanding, preparing the right condition to achieve higher levels of
education and have easy access to the information & academic resources.
6- Advancing the quality of the university management in accordance with
the necessities and changes in academic, social and technological
conditions, priority of quality over quantity of outputs, cooperation of
the faculties, best allocation of privileges & facilities according to
the goals & evaluation system.
7- Constant organization and improvement of the relationship with the
other academic centers, especially those on the same direction with ISU
and the users of services and achievements of the university including:
Howza and universities, academic centers, institutes & offices of the
Islamic Republic of Iran, Iranian people & those of the Islamic
countries and other countries in the world.
8- Utilizing new technologies for increasing speed, accuracy and
effectiveness of training, research & facilitating academic connections
with regard to the requirements & needs of society, with due emphasis on
the fact that technology serves as a tool for accomplishing the
university mission.
9- Faculties & students should be committed to justice, human sanctity &
honor, protecting divine blessings and the environment, and taking care
of human problems and pains.
10- Faculties & students should be committed to promoting social
integrity, brotherhood, affection, social order, conscientiousness,
obligation, & reducing and eliminating society’s problems by using all
different means such as constant observation of social needs, changes, &
transitions, making structural research practical, presenting scientific
& practical plans to satisfy different and always changing, and
increasing demands of society, opposing cultural & intellectual invasion
by having a recourse to the Islamic thought, leading society toward
self-reliance increasing peoples cooperation in elevating the Islamic
system.
Imam Sadegh University as the first Islamic university in Iran &
originated from the Islamic revolution considers that the adherence to
Velayat-e-Faghih (authority of a religious jurisprudent) is pivotal and
is a continuation of the path of the most honored Prophet & Holy Imams (pbut).
In addition to that, ISU considers the following as some of its
privileges: special composition of the board of trustees & teaching
staff (gathered from Howza and Universities Scholars), excellent,
credible, powerful and stable management, creating a suitable atmosphere
for women to prove their talents in academic management. ISU is also
accountable to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, ministry of
science, research & Technology, and to the board of honors.
The heary weight of accomplishing the mission of ISU falls on the
shoulders of teaching staff and managers, and the cooperation of
students and administration is much needed in this regard.
